Mr. Topper,

Attached please find IU’s Annual Security Reports from 2016-2021. IU no longer maintains these records before 2016. We also provided crime statistics in response to your previous request #2640 that may be helpful to reference as well. Indiana University now considers your request closed.
Thanks,

Hi,

My name is Kaity Radde, and I’m a reporter for the Indiana Daily Student. I
am working on a story about IU’s responsiveness to records requests with a
particular focus on requests about sexual misconduct and/or disciplinary
records. I obtained IU’s log of records requests going back to 2015, but it
doesn’t include information about whether requests were fulfilled and when.

I’m reaching out because Michael Topper appears as a requester under this
email address. I was wondering if you could let me know whether your
request number 2982 on Oct. 19, 2021 was fulfilled or rejected, and if so,
when?

Thanks in advance for your time, and please let me know if you have any
questions.
Best,

Kaity

Hi Kaity,

You can find my interaction with Indiana University here: https://www.muckrock.com/foi/indiana-152/residence-halls-violations-indiana-university-bloomington-120268

It appears 10/19/21 was the initial date of request, and 12/03/21 was the date of "completion". Note that they did not give me the records I requested as you can see in my correspondance with them—I just didn't want to go through the trouble of fighting them for the records.

Hope this helps.

Michael
