-----------------------------

Dear Daniel Sherwood,

On February 7, 2019, the University of Kansas received your email requesting records access pursuant to the Kansas Open Records Act (KORA). As required by KORA, the University is responding to your request within the third business day following its date of receipt. Please note, due to inclement weather, the University was closed Thursday, February 7, 2019.

Your request states, in relevant part:

I request correspondences, documents, and other records exchanged between representatives of Students for Carbon Dividends (https://www.facebook.com/StudentsforCarbonDividends/) and faculty at University of Kansas or University of Kansas' College Republicans (ku@kansascr.com) from February 1, 2018 until February 1, 2019.

In order for us to process your request, please provide a list of names of representatives of the Students for Carbon Dividends. After we have received the requested clarification, the University can try to provide an estimate of the fees incurred for the University employee time required to retrieve these records. As allowed by K.S.A. ยง45-219(a), the University requires that fees be paid in advance of any records production.

Note that correspondence between Students for Carbon Dividends and the University of Kansas College Republicans would not be considered public records under KORA. Therefore, your request for such records is denied, and we will consider this part of the request concluded.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Sincerely,
/s/
