Lapse of OMB Control Number 1506-0009 and subsequent request for reinstatement in 1998

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

All documentation, correspondence, memoranda, reports, emails, notices, or other relevant materials related to FinCEN's failure to renew in a timely manner OMB Control Number 1506-0009 during the year 1998 and the subsequent request for reinstatement (tracked under ICR Ref No. 199801-1506-002). This includes but is not limited to:

1. Any internal communications discussing the expiration of OMB Control Number 1506-0009 and the Request.
2. Any external communications with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) regarding the Request process.
3. Any analysis or assessments conducted regarding the impact of the expired control number on FinCEN's operations or regulatory obligations.
4. Any remedial actions or analyses taken or proposed to address the failure to renew the control number.

Please include all documents regardless of format, including electronic records, written correspondence, and any other relevant materials. If certain records are exempt from disclosure under FOIA, please provide a detailed explanation for each exemption claimed.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
