Dear Colin Gerber,

Pursuant to California Government Code Section 6253(c), we write in response to the inquiry that you made to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office under the California Public Records Act, which we received on, October 20, 2020. We note that the requests are limited only to records in our custody and control.
Attached you will find a data showing the calls for service related to domestic violence/ domestic disturbance calls. The data shows the Type of call, the Priority Level, Date and Time of call received and Date and Time Officer arrived (AR). The Dispatch logs do not contain a field for Race or Ethnicity, nor do they contain the outcome of the call. We are currently gathering each report in order to obtain that information. These reports will need to be reviewed and heavily redacted since they are not releasable via a California Public Records Request. We estimate the completion of the review to be three weeks.

Dispatch does not retain a document that will give the average response time for calls. I am reaching out to another unit to see if they're able to obtain a document that will give us this requested data. I hope to hear an answer from them within one week.

Best regards,

Hi,

Thanks so much for your help with this request! I really appreciate it. Will wait to see if the requested data are available as well.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to get the data you sent in a spreadsheet format rather than PDF? Understandable if that is too burdensome, but if it's easily done that would help us enormously.

Additionally, could you please clarify the difference between DP and EN?

Thanks again for all your assistance.

Sincerely,
Colin Gerber

From: Alameda County Sheriff's Office

Dear Colin Gerber,

I'm sorry, I'm not able to produce the data in spreadsheet format. DP: Dispatched, EN: En route.
