To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

The cumulative percentage of ENL (English as a Native Language) students who were IDT (In-District Transfers) to Dicken, Lawton, Bryant-Pattengill and Lakewood elementary schools for each of the academic years 2011 through 2019 . In addition to those cumulative annual percentages, I kindly request that you provide individual annual percentages of the IDT of ENL students to the aforementioned schools.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Joseph Niman

Good morning Mr. Niman ~
This is in response to the FOIA request (#2019-20-11) received on August 5,
2019:

The data you are requesting is available on www.mischooldata.org - however
please note that the District does not report on in-district transfer
demographics for State reporting purposes. The information available is
accumulated at a District wide level and reported as such.

Choose school year
"Student Count" is the data file choice

You will be emailed a CSV spreadsheet w/ the data - at the far right of the
spreadsheet (column "AL") will be the English Language Learners Enrollment
- simply subtract from the total enrollment to find the number of "English
as a Native Language" students .

Also note that there will be columns showing <10 - in those instances, to
protect the privacy of individual students, educational data suppression
rules apply. To avoid the unintended disclosure of personally identifiable
information, whenever report settings yield fewer than 10 students, less
than 5 percent, or over 95 percent of any grouping, the data will not
display.
