Thank You.

Hi, Beryl,

The Atlanta Police Department was provided a trial demonstration of shot spotter technology that was active between 2018-2020. The trial demonstration ended in 2020 and the time, the department made the decision to discontinue extending the use of the shot spotter technology based on the analytical data provided. APD is currently in the process of re-evaluating another possible trial demonstration with shot spotter. No agreements have yet been confirmed at this time as the negotiations continue. Attached are the number of 911 calls APD responded to using shot spotter technology during the first trial period from 2018-2020 along with our signals and codes as well as the department’s decision memo in 2020.
