Request for Body Cam Footage of Incident Involving Octavia Wells [December 31, 2024]

Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:

I am writing to formally request access to the bodycam footage under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) related to the arrest of Octavia Wells on December 31, 2024.

Incident Details for Footage Retrieval:

Suspect: Octavia Wells, 41
Incident Summary: Wells accidentally texted a narcotics investigator instead of a drug dealer, requesting to purchase fentanyl. The investigator went undercover and arranged a meeting with Wells, who went to a gas station expecting to meet a dealer, but instead met law enforcement. She was arrested for unlawful use of a two-way communication device, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.

I am requesting copies of all body-worn camera footage from officers who responded to and interacted with Wells during this incident.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
