To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Alabama Public Records , I hereby request the following records:
Use of force data with detail summaries for all use of force incidents from 2008-2016. Please provide the following details for each incident:
Date (year, month, day) of the incident, subject race, officer race, type of force used, whether there was subject injury, and whether there was officer injury.
I prefer csv spreadsheet format (or pdf) where each row represents an incident. Here is an example of the data I'm looking for (https://www.dallasopendata.com/Public-Safety/Police-2015-Response-to-Resistance/594v-2cnd).
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.
Sincerely,

Ms. Johnson,
Thank you for submitting your records request on 7/22/20. Your request has been denied. The information you are requesting information that does not exist in the form she has requested for the dates she had specified. While general use of force numbers are available for 2008-2016, BPD IAD did not start detailing uses of force onto a spreadsheet format until 2018.
Please let me know if there is anything further needed.
