18 February 2025 Chris Faraone requests@muckrock.com RE: B000317-013125 Dear Chris: This letter contains a fee estimate for the necessary segregation and redaction of records which is required by law for the below public record request you made of the Boston Police Department (Department): Any documents from Jan. 1, 2023 through the present day that include the word "Draganfly" - please note the spelling - including any email correspondence with email addresses ending in "draganfly.com." A search has been conducted for responsive records from the information requested. There are approximately 350 pages found to be responsive.  The Department estimates that segregation and redaction will take one minute per page totaling 5.83 hours.  The first two hours are free of charge leaving 3.83 hours remaining.  Despite our trained professionals making far more than $25/hour, the Department will agree to an hourly rate of $25/hour.  This would result in a total of $95.75. The Department is hopeful that we can work together to come up with a more reasonable request that will not co-opt Department resources for such a significant length of time and also will not place a financial burden on you. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or proposals for a parred down request. You may appeal this response to the Supervisor of Records in the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth. G. L. c. 66, § 10A (c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(b)(ix); 950 CMR 32.08; 950 CMR 32.08(1)(h) (in petitioning the Supervisor, the requester shall provide a copy of such petition to the records access officer associated with such petition). You may also appeal to the Superior Court. 950 CMR 32.06(3)(c).
