To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
The number of tenants and housing voucher recipients (such as those receiving section 8) who have lost their housing, either through eviction or loss of voucher, due to arrests or felony convictions. This includes tenants who may have lost their housing because a family member was arrested or those whose arrest records led to a loss of benefits. Please indicate whether the person arrested/convicted was the the name on the voucher/housing certificate.
Please include this data from the past year, from January-December of 2019 for Section 8 as well as the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP), and the Alternative Housing Voucher Program (AHVP).
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
