Jan,
Thanks very much for working on this. I received these while sitting in on the Public Safety Committee meeting, which was almost as riveting as the City Council meeting ;)
If I may follow up with one quick question (not a records request): you mentioned the ALPR system is no longer in use. Is this related to the new laws (S.155 and S.150) which concern ALPR's in Vermont?
Thanks,
Brian Waters

Brian,
You know how to have fun!
Our use, or lack of use, has nothing to do with the laws. It has to do with money and operations. The ALPR must operate on a solid computer platform system, which we were struggling with because we use iPads in the field. The Toughbook we did have installed in one of our older Sedans was aging out and kept breaking. Then the ALPR broke. Between fixing the ALPR (for a lot of money) and getting a computer that would work, it was really a lot of work for not much outcome. We are looking at moving away from iOs soon so maybe we will have better luck down the road.
