We need some clarification about the Public Records Act request you sent on Jan. 1, 2016 pasted below. You asked for this information "through the end of 2015" but you did not specify how far back you want to go. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for your message. I would be interested in all such materials from 1970 onward. However, I understand that this may be a potentially absurd request given whatever the nature of this record keeping happens to be. I'd be happy to discuss further via phone, if that's easier.

Thanks for your help.

Best,
Beryl

Hello.

I am unclear whether this email is from Beryl Lipton or someone else at Muckrock.com. Whoever this is, the PRA request submitted by Beryl was not submitted to this agency on January 1. It was transmitted electronically well after business hours on January 19, 2016 and received by staff of the CA DOJ on January 20, 2016.

We did have some initial setbacks, but have been making good progress on this project. As I mentioned in our letter providing our response to the clarified request, each section has had to review their information to ensure that no attorney-client information is included in the reports to be produced. Some sections had a few matters to review and others had thousands. As a result, not all of the impacted sections have completed their review. I simply do not yet know if the review of information on all of the litigation matter reports will be completed and available on March 11. It is however my intention to provide what we have available and notify you then if a rolling production will be necessary and of the next anticipated production date.

Ms. Mitchell,

Thank you so much for your help with this. I apologize for the confusion that our crossed emails may have caused.

Warm wishes,
Beryl
