To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
1. Copies of all manuals, memos, policies or other guidelines that the Department of Education has created related to the use of remote or online proctoring tools, such as Proctorio, ProctorU, Honorlock, Examity, or Respondus.
2. Any communication provided by the DOE to external agencies and individuals about remote or online proctoring tools. This request includes, but is not limited to instructions, guidance, request forms, and other materials issued regarding proctoring tools.
3. Any records related to the use of proctoring tools, including, but not limited to, RFPs, responses to RFPs, agreements, contracts, correspondence, procurement or use of proctoring tools, reports and invoices.
I ask that all fees be waived, as I intend to use the requested records for research, academic and journalistic, and to publish articles in the public interest and not for any commercial purpose.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
