From: Virginia Fay
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request the following records:
How many Title IX complaints have there been to the University of California in 2016?
What was the nature of the complaints?
What communication has occurred internally regarding Title IX complaints?
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,

Dear Ms. Fay,
The California State University received your request for information about Title IX complaints for the University of California.
Please be advised that we have no responsive documents for the University of California. The two university systems are separate entities.
However, if you mean to request records from the California State University, or any of our campuses, you will need to contact the Public Records personnel at the individual campus you are interested in. A link of the campuses under the CSU system can be found here: https://www2.calstate.edu/attend/campuses
Finally, Title IX documents contain protected personal information about the individuals involved, some of whom are students. Your request would need to be greatly narrowed and specific to garner records that would be eligible for public view.
Sincerely,
Mayling Nicolas
