All files: videos, photos, emails, memos, notes, calender appointements, mentions in meeting notes and the contents of the notebooks in which there is reference to Mohammed Harun Arsalai, Harun Arsalai or Harun, or "the Afghan" in reference to Mohammed Harun Arsalai - any and all surveillence notes and information gathered by handwriting, records, arrest records, interviews, recorded conversations and any documentation on or related to Mohammed Harun Arsalai or "Harun" Arsalai
Mohammed Harun Arsalai was a Oakland, California and San Francisco Bay Area political organizer and now a journalist. Arsalai was born on November 24th 1981 and was arrested several times in the Bay Area.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP), Office of Community Outreach and Media Relations (COMR), received your California Public Records Act (CPRA) request, dated June 17 and and received by this office on June 18, 2020.
In your request you asked for the following, verbatim:

Mohammed Harun Arsalai was a Oakland, California and San Francisco Bay Area political organizer and now a journalist. Arsalai was born on November 24th 1981 and was arrested several times in the Bay Area.
The Office of COMR is determining whether you seek copies of disclosable public records in the Department's possession. This will require personnel to search for and collect the requested records from offices that are separate from the office processing the request.
Additionally, COMR personnel must consult with other components of the Department that have a substantial subject matter interest therein. Accordingly, COMR is extending its 10-day response timeframe by an additional 14 days, as authorized by Government Code section 6253, Subdivisions (c)(1) and (c)(3).

The Office of COMR has determined the Department possesses records responsive to your request. The requested records are being collected and may require redactions to comply with various provisions of law. The process of collecting, reviewing, redacting, and routing through proper channels may take approximately 30 days. Once this process has been completed and the records have been properly reviewed, you will be notified and informed of the cost to obtain the requested records.
