This is to acknowledge UCSF receipt of your request for records under the California Public Records Act (CPRA) of March 24, 2025, PRA# 025-034, as found below:

“Any emails to or from Jay Bhattacharya from January 1, 2020 to March 25, 2025.”
However, before the University can continue to process your request, we will need some additional clarification. In order to search for and collect “all emails to or from Jay Bhattacharya” for a period of more than four years, we will need to know first, who you would like us to contact and if you have any other clarifying keywords to include to help guide the search. Are you requesting that we contact only Dr. Vinay Prasad, who is referenced in the subject line of your email?

Please note that in accordance with the UC Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), we are not able to search centrally for all email to or from a particular individual or with a particular keyword. Instead, we are obligated to contact specific individuals to inquire about the existence of records that may be responsive to a given request. You should also note that personal communications that fall outside of University business, such that they exist, would not be included.
