Individual Involved: Chongya Weldon
Incident Summary: Officers arrested Weldon at her home following allegations that she threw water on a plant shop owner on September 14, 2024. Bodycam footage reportedly captures the interaction between officers and Weldon, including her objections to the arrest and accusations that officers used excessive force. Weldon was charged with resisting an officer.
I am requesting copies of all body-worn camera footage from officers who:
Responded to Weldon’s residence on September 20, 2024.
Interacted with Weldon during her arrest.
Transported Weldon following her arrest.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
