Dear Mr. Gomez:

This acknowledges receipt of your correspondence wherein you requested copies of the below listed records/data purportedly maintained by the Charlotte Housing Authority.

For years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018,

- A CSV or XLS spreadsheet including data on age of residents in the household, demographic, number of individuals in the household, and household annual income of CHA housing RESIDENTS of public housing and Section 8 housing assistance in the authorities purview, City of Charlotte.

- A CSV or XLS spreadsheet including data on age of residents in the household, demographic, number of individuals in the household, and household annual income of CHA housing APPLICANTS of public housing and Section 8 housing assistance in the authorities purview, City of Charlotte.

- A CSV or XLS spreadsheet including data on housing assistance and Section 8 housing DENIALS.

-Any grievances/complaints of discrimination submitted to the CHA between the aforementioned date, including any of the following words/phrases:
-crime
-crimes
-criminal
-convict
-convicted
-sex offense
-sex offender
-jail
-prison
-correctional facility
-probation
-parole
-conviction record
-arrest record

We are in the process of determining whether the requested documentation is available for disclosure under the North Carolina Public Records Act. Your request will be granted or denied within one (1) month from the date of this letter.

Further, upon review of your request, we have determined that your request is vague, ambiguous, and overly broad. Clarification is required in order to continue conducting a diligent search.

Please define "demographics" and "data" with respect to your request. Specifically clarify what information you are requesting with regards to any grievances/complaints of discrimination. Lastly, please provide an excel spreadsheet or document that is formatted and organized with the headings of the information that you are requesting.
Please forward a response to this correspondence within ten (10) business days. If a response is not received within 10 business days, we will consider this matter closed and you will have to submit a new public record request.
