Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting access to and copies of all records related to the arrest of Kenel Barthelus (DOB 10/14/1988) on August 18, 2023, following a pursuit and narcotics trafficking investigation conducted by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics, S.T.A.R., and Aviation Units.
Specifically, I request the following:
Aviation Unit video footage showing Barthelus' flight from law enforcement, including the discarded narcotics and foot pursuit.
Body-worn camera footage and/or dashcam footage from deputies involved in the initial traffic stop, pursuit, and arrest.
Dashcam footage from police vehicles involved in the high-speed chase.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
