Pursuant to Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
The current roster of sworn officers in the Charlottesville Police Department.
These documents should be sufficient to show:
1. Names of each sworn police officer.
2. Current badge number
3. Current rank
4. Gender
5. Race
6. Date of employment
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Galbraith,
This e-mail was sent to a person other than the FOIA contact and this person was out of the office with an automatic reply saying so. Due to an IT related issue, some time was needed upon his return to evaluate e-mail.
The Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Code 2.2-3704 (A), discusses records requestors being Citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Could you review this information and provide proof of compliance? It doesn't currently appear that you are eligible to receive records.
