Tom - Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3704, before processing a request for records, a public body may require the requester to pay any amounts owed to the public body for previous requests for records that remain unpaid 30 days or more after billing.
On November 30, 2020, City of Charlottesville fulfilled a previous FOIA request filed by you. The City billed you for $5.03, and it has not received payment for its processing of that request. Upon receipt of your payment, the City will process new FOIA requests you may submit.
The City’s response period is tolled for the amount of time that elapses between this notice and the City’s receipt of your payment.
