Good Afternoon:
We received your FOIA request for Andrea Kersten's emails and other materials. There are a couple things I wanted to touch base about in order to process your request:

First, our emails are stored with the City's Department of Technology and Innovation ("DTI") and only they are able to search those emails. They have told us that they are currently behind on email searches and estimate that it takes approximately a month to provide emails to us. Would you be willing to agree to an extension to at least Friday April 25 for us to obtain emails from DTI and review them?

Moreover, it is possible that once we receive these emails, it will be unduly burdensome for us to review the emails to determine if any exemptions apply. If that is the case, we will contact you to attempt to narrow the scope of the request in order for us to be able to comply.

Second, In terms of the portion of your request seeking reports from Quality Managers, our Quality Management section does complete reports referred to as QARs when they review a summary report and investigation. However, they complete approximately 20 of these per month. Therefore it would be unduly burdensome for our department to collect and review all of these reports. Can you please narrow your request, either by a specific date range and/or specific case(s) and/or specific officer(s) so that we will be able to process your request.
