Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

A log of all homicides and involuntary manslaughters recorded in Cook County in 2002, including but not limited to the following fields:
- Case or report number,
- Date of death,
- Victim name,
- Victim birth year,
- Victim race,
- Victim sex,
- Location of incident,
- Cause of death,
- Weapon used, if applicable,
- Case status.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I am a freelance reporter for Medill News and I am requesting this information in that editorial capacity.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled in the form of CSV or Excel file, and electronically by e-mail attachment if available.
