From: FOIA

Dear Mr. Brian K.,

The Chicago Transit Authority (“CTA”) has received your Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) request. Your request, as currently stated, is very broad, does not include a time frame and requests over a dozen categories of records. As such, your request is unduly burdensome to process. Pursuant to Section 3(g) of FOIA, CTA is extending to you the opportunity to reduce your request to more manageable proportions and to consult with me, if necessary, to do so. 5 ILCS 140/3(g).

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Brigett R. Bevan

From: Brian K

Hello, and thank you for your response.

I apologize for the broadness of my request.

Please narrow the focus of dates between January 2012 and January 2015. Please narrow the focus for documents to include emails, legal opinions, and briefs between the Chicago Transit Authority and the Chicago Infrastructure Trust, the City of Chicago, Chicago Mayor's Office and companies T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T.

I hope this helps, but please don't hesitate to email me with any questions.

-Brian K.

Dear Brian K.,

I am contacting you regarding the scope of your most recently revised Freedom of Information Act request to the Chicago Transit Authority. Your request, even as revised, would still encompass a very large number of e-mails and would be unduly burdensome to process even as narrowed. As part of a process of conferring with you in an attempt to reduce your request to more manageable proportions, is there any way that you can more specifically define what e-mails or category of e-mails that you looking for or, perhaps, what specific information or type of informatin that you are seeking in these e-mail?

Please feel free to contact me to confer further.

Sincerely,
