Pursuant to the South Carolina Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
Public reports show 43 Rhesus monkeys escaped from a biolab in the Yemassee area: https://x.com/rawsalerts/status/1854583193057607858
Therefore, I request the following:
- Any police reports related to this incident
- Any emails, presentations or reports that includes the word "monkey" or "monkeys" sent to/from/between this department. Please limit the search to between November 6 and November 30, 2024
- Any photos, videos, or audio recorded relating to this incident
- Any 911 calls or public complaints about this incident
The requested documents will be used for reporting at 404 Media, an independent tech publication (www.404media.co)
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Good afternoon,
The Colleton County dispatch has one call for service (CFS) in our system.
Note this reported sighting is several miles from the biolab in Yemassee,
and is possibly unrelated. You will most likely have better results by
requesting information from Beaufort County and/or Hampton County dispatch.
The CFS from Colleton County dispatch is attached.
