To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Colorado Public Records Law request, copied below, and originally submitted on Feb. 20, 2019. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
From: Colorado Department of Education
Ms. Farkus,
As per our CORA policy (PDF)<https://www.cde.state.co.us/communications/20140805corapolicy>, we have three business days to respond to any requests. The countdown starts the day after receipt of the request. In this case, the CORA request was submitted on Feb. 20, so the third business day is Feb. 25 (today).
Our initial search resulted in more than 9,000 emails. We are reviewing the emails now to remove duplicates. After that, we’ll need to review all emails to ensure information that we are not allowed to disclose (such as student PII) is not included. Depending on that amount we will need to redact, we may need to charge for staff time compensation. If that’s the case, I’ll let you know the cost estimate beforehand.
So as to ensure a thorough search is conducted, we hereby notify you that, per C.R.S.§ 24-72-203(3)(b), we require an additional ten business days to complete the review.
In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Erica

Hi Mackenzie,
Thank you for your patience with us during this CORA review process.
Our IT team and myself are working to finalize the PDF Document with all of the emails that were responsive to your request. I’m doing my best to get it to you by end of day today, but wanted to let you know I may have to send it to you tomorrow morning.
Due to the large volume size, we will be sending this to you via Syncplicity. Once I send the link, you will be prompted to sign in to the system and be able to download the PDF. If it doesn’t work for you, please let me know and I will use our workaround. I will email you a confirmation once I send it your way.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding!
Best,
Erica
