Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting data on crime incidents—those classified by your agency as crimes—rather than calls for service or unfounded incidents.
• Year(s) Requested: 2009
• Columns Requested: Incident date, Incident time, Type of crime (e.g., robbery, theft, etc.), Incident ID, and all other available columns that do not require additional processing by the agency or redaction.
If the data are stored in a proprietary or custom electronic format not publicly available, I request that it be converted to a format viewable with standard software, such as Microsoft Excel or CSV. Please avoid providing data in PDF or paper printouts.
This request is made to support academic research conducted in the public interest and is not for commercial purposes. The data will contribute to a research project assessing the effect of music concerts on crime, aiming to enhance public understanding of how large events influence community safety.
I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be made available to the public at MuckRock.com.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Good morning. This Freedom of Information Act request was forwarded to me by our Town Clerk.
Unfortunately, I am unable to assist you in your quest for this data. On July 1, 2023, the Town of Montville Police Department became an organized, independent police department. It was at that time that we starting compiling data such as the information you are requesting. Prior to July 1, 2023, the Town of Montville operated under the Connecticut State Police "Resident State Trooper Program." As such, any crime data requested will have to be requested from "The Keeper of the Record." In this case, the keeper of the record would be:
