Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am formally requesting the full autopsy report of my husband, Jackie Dwayne Wiley, who died in Hutchins Tdcj in Dallas, Tx. My name is Chrystal Stanley 971 Coronado Dr Aubrey Tx 76227 (940)290-4520. He died 05/25/2024 in Dallas County.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Our office received your follow up request. The Dallas County Assistant District Attorney Ashely Fourt emailed a response on 6/3/24. We have no responsive record to your request because the autopsy report is not finalized. Please note autopsy reports take approx.. 90 days to finalize. Once the report is finalized you can submit a new request for a release status.

Below is the Dallas County ADA communication sent on 6/3/24 -
The Dallas County Medical Examiner is in receipt of the attached request seeking a copy of the autopsy report. In response, be advised that the autopsy report has not yet been finalized and is therefore no available. Please note that it can take up to 90 days to finalize the report and there are fees associated with obtaining a copy of the report. Certified copies of the autopsy report are $15.00/ non-certified copies are $5.00. Once completed, you will need to resubmit your request with payment for a copy of the report. However, in the event the death is ruled a homicide or there is an on-going criminal investigation into the death, the investigating agency may assert their law enforcement exception and seek to withhold the report.
