Request for Body Cam Footage of Incident – July 1, 2023 (Daytona Beach Police Department)

Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:

Incident Details for Footage Retrieval:

Date: July 1, 2023
Location: 600 block of Clark Street, Daytona Beach, FL
Suspect: Nichole Maks, 37
Incident Summary: Officers responded to a fire at a residence where they discovered Michael Cerasoli, 79, deceased with blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds. Maks was later located at a restaurant in Holly Hill, where she was found with blood on her clothing and in possession of a knife and hammer. During questioning, she allegedly attempted to destroy potential DNA evidence by pouring Diet Mountain Dew on herself and resisted arrest.
I am requesting copies of all body-worn camera footage from officers who:

Responded to the fire and initial crime scene.
Encountered and detained Nichole Maks at the restaurant in Holly Hill.
Conducted her post-Miranda interview and subsequent arrest.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
