To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Colorado Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

Any emails, letters, or any other records in written, electronic, or any other form, as defined by C.R.S. §§ 24-72-202(7) which were sent, received, or produced mentioning "sweeps" and/or "clean ups" and/or "shelter" in reference to people experiencing homelessness during the time starting on March 10, 2020 until the date on which this request is processed.

If you deny this request for records in whole or in part, I ask that you provide a written statement explaining the reason for the denial that cites the legal authority that is the basis for the denial. If any of the requested records are in active use, in storage or otherwise unavailable at this time, I likewise request that you provide a statement informing me of the reason they are currently unavailable and a date and hour at which time the records will be available for inspection.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Alex B

Alex,

Please refine and clarify this request as it is overly broad and burdensome. The City Attorney’s Office is only custodian of records in its possession, not those of our client agencies. Each agency is custodian of its own records, e.g. Denver Police, Denver Fire, Denver Public Health and Environment, etc. If your request is specific to the City Attorney’s Office, it is still too broad. We have more than 225 people on staff and asking them to search and retrieve emails and/or other written communications containing the terms you are requesting would take an extraordinary amount of time.

Happy to help however I can.
Thanks,
Ryan
