Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Copies of dashcam and or bodycam video of police pursuits from 01/02/2021 to 01/02/2024. I would like vehicle and foot pursuits. Please include an abbreviated processing note for each video
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

We charge $18.78 pro-rated hourly. The 1st 15 minutes are free, and if the video is available for release our IT Team will have to pull the dash and body cam footage at their rate of $33.61 pro-rated hourly. The 1st 15 minutes are free. Please be advised that this is going to take a considerable amount of research, and If a case is pending prosecution, we will not be able to produce body or dash cam as mandated by O.C.G.A. 50-18-72 (a)(4) of the Georgia Open Records Act. Please let me know how you would like to proceed, and I will obtain a projected estimate that will need to be paid before proceeding. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Hello Jillian, and thanks for the quick response. I would like to reduce my search to only the last 6 months of 2023. If possible, I would also like to not receive any cases that involve violent crimes such as murder, aggravated assualt, or sexual violence included with the pursuit or fleeing charges.

I have attached a cost sheet for the time it took to research these cases pertaining to your open records request to give the information to the IT Department. Below is a projected estimate from the IT Department to pull these videos. Please read the instructions as well, and note that these are the estimated projected costs, and if further payment is needed, we will let you know after the video is pulled. These two totals will have to be paid before we can submit a request to pull these videos to our IT Department. You may remit payment in the form of a business check, cashier's check, or money order paid to the order of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and mail it to the address below. If you mail in payment, please include a copy of this email. If you prefer to come in person, we accept cash (exact change-we do not take after 4:30pm) or debit credit card ($2.00 convenience fee will apply, and we take payment up to closing). We are open Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm.
