Upload documents directly: https://www.muckrock.com/ Hello Samuel Newton, please be advised they I am in receipt of check no. 11849 for $30.00. Once I began to break down each vehicle contact I was able determine that there were no contacts by the Durango Police Department that matched your search criteria. All fees have been waived, and check no. 11849 has been voided and will return check no. 11849 by mail. Please keep in mind that there are 3 other local jurisdictions, La Plata County Sherriff's Office,  Colorado State Patrol, and Fort Lewis College Police Dept. In which I have not access to those records. My apologies for the extended research time on this request. For questions or additional information, please reply to this email. "you may modify your request in response to the cost estimate or that you have sent a complaint to the Office of the Attorney General alleging that you have been overcharged for public information. "

Do you have a complaint or correspondence from the Attorney General? How often have you received complaint? Could I see them?

I've never heard of that in Colorado.

Do you know of any statutes on Criminal Justice requests regarding forms?

Englewood PD has been giving me a hard time about forms, but my understanding was that as long as the information on the form was sent in then the request was successful completed.

They have created three different forms, but once filled and submitted still not accepted any. The first form was confirmed via email and the request has never been filled.

Has your office ever received a Writ of Mandus in regards to a FOI, CORA, CJRA request? Could I see those as well?

Check No. 11849 is still valid, as I had not had a chance to void or return the check. I will use that for payment received. Preliminary search for a 2002 Ford F250, resulted in 22 matching vehicles. Out of the 22 vehicles only 3 were listed as unlicensed, out of the 3 unregistered vehicles none matched the time frames you have referenced.  Please be advised that each incident had to be opened to view the nature and date of contact. This has taken me well over an hour. This request will be marked closed, unless I receive additional identifying information for the vehicle or person. Hello Christi,

Thank you for your continued support on this request. I received your last email; however, I am a little confused over your response due to previous correspondence from your agency. On 7/12/2024, your agency had submitted an invoice price of $30.00 for this request research which was subsequently deposited by your agency on 8/1/2024. If your agency was not in the possession of such records, due to county limits, I am unsure why a charge was assessed. Can you please submit the $30.00 credit check back to me?

I am writing to clarify a terminology used in a recent communication regarding my Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) request.

It has come to my attention that in my previous correspondence, the term "Writ of Mandus" was used in error. The correct legal term is "Writ of Mandamus." A Writ of Mandamus is a judicial remedy in the form of an order from a court to any government subordinate court, corporation, or public authority to do some specific act which that body is obliged under law to do.

Please accept this correction and proceed with processing my original request, as submitted, under the corrected terminology.

I would appreciate a confirmation that this request will be processed without further delay and according to the corrected legal term. Should there be any questions or need for further clarification, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Thank you for your previous responses regarding my Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) request. I appreciate your assistance and attention to this matter.

To ensure that we are in full compliance with the legal requirements of CORA, I respectfully request that you provide the specific statute or legal citation that mandates the use of a formal request form or portal for submitting a CORA request. My understanding is that a written request should suffice under CORA, and I would like to verify if there is any statutory basis for the necessity of a specific form.

Your prompt response with this information would be greatly appreciated, as it will enable me to proceed accordingly with my request.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Can I have copy of the 22 records you accessed?

Please refund payment.
The second search was not authorized.

Fees were waived for the first.

If that's an issue please advise with your supervisor or the City Attorney and send their response.

Thank you.

I am writing to request access to all correspondence generated from or in relation to my prior records requests submitted to your office. This includes internal communications, responses, and any other related documentation.

Additionally, I kindly request a brief description of the search conducted to locate these records, including the departments or databases searched.

Please confirm receipt of this request and provide an estimated time frame for fulfilling it. Should there be any associated fees, please inform me in advance.
