From: Grant Zimmerman
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Colorado Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
- A copy of the Lease of Water Rights between David & Linda Little and the North Central Fire Protection District. Said lease commenced in 2010 and was recently cancelled.
- Copies of any related documentation to other water right leases and/or purchases that the District may have engaged in within the past 10 years.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Grant Zimmerman
From:
Mr. Zimmerman,
Good afternoon. I am responding to your mailed request for a copy of the water rights lease between the Littles and the NCFPD.
First, I want to humbly apologize for my failure to get this information to you within the 3 days per the state statute. NCFPD recently had an election (less than 3 weeks prior to the receipt of your request), and I am obviously not trained up in all areas. So, please accept my apologies for being remiss in getting this to you sooner.
That being said, while your request is very clear, I am attaching a copy of our in-house NCFPD Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) Request Form that we require to be completed prior to the release of records. Please fill out this form and return to me at your earliest convenience. I am looking at the lease information that was forwarded to me to to ensure I have it in its entirety. Thus, turn-around should be quick. I also do not have the ability to burn a CD, but the lease information is a PDF so I think e-mailing it will suffice.
Again, I apologize for the lateness in processing your request. I hope you understand.
Respectfully,
Christie Pier
Secretary, NCFPD Board

Thank you for completing the NCFPD CORA Request Form. Per your request, here is all the information the NCFPD Board has regarding the water rights lease between the NCFPD and the Littles. There were no other leases of which the NCFPD was a part.
