To Whom it may concern,
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all records from the past year regarding your nuisance property ordinance that will be referred to as ordinance in this request but could be known (but not limited to) as Public Nuisances as described in Chapter 16.18, Article XI of the city code.
Please provide any and all written records (including but not limited to hard-copy documents, memos, emails, word processor documents, PDF documents, PowerPoint files, images files, video files etc.) regarding the Ordinance including but not limited to:
• police calls, reports, citations, or arrests, collected by the municipality police department for the purpose of enforcing the ordinance
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request.
Sincerely,
Jenny Wadhwa

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following California Public Records Act request, copied below, and originally submitted on April 10, 2024. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
From: Elk Grove Police Department
Good Afternoon,
I am confirming receipt of a record request, and I wanted to put forward to the following to clarify the request:
* For the prior year this would be a request covering April 10, 2023 to April 10, 2024 (04-10-2024 being the date noted on the letter correspondence);
* The request refers to nuisance property described in Chapter 16.18 Article XI. To clarify that would specifically be Elk Grove Municipal Code (EGMC) Sections 16.18.1100 through 16.18.1139;
* The nature of the request appears to focus on matters that resulted in a police response. Generally speaking, in the City of Elk Grove the Code Enforcement Division would handle most originating calls relating to matters under Elk Grove Municipal Code (EGMC) Sections 16.18.1100 through 16.18.1139. From the request, it appears you are not seeking Code Enforcement cases on the whole, but rather only those that included police involvement in the response?
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, feel free to contact me by phone at 1-916-478-2286, or email at jlindgren@elkgrovecity.org<mailto:jlindgren@elkgrovecity.org>.

From:
Dear Requestor,
In accordance with Government Code 7922.530, this email serves as notification that the City of Elk Grove has identified records responsive to your request received on April 22, 2024. The City will act promptly to make the records available to you unless it is determined that an exemption within the California Public Records Act justifies nondisclosure of the information.
I estimate the City will be able to provide initial records responsive, and any needed timeline for additional responsive records, to you by 4:00 pm on June 4, 2024.
The City attempts to provide records in electronic format whenever possible; however, the City may require payment of all costs of duplication and other costs that are subject to reimbursement, as authorized by Government Code section 7922.575 and other relevant law, prior to the release of any copied records. We will contact you in advance if we determine the fees will exceed $50.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information at this time.
Thank you.
