Dear Mr. Galbraith:
Pursuant to your freedom of information request dated April 21, 2019, seeking "transaction records of all expenses, including, but not limited to meal and travel expenses" paid or reimbursed by this office from 2014 to 2019, the records requested consists of thousands of pages which will require more than two hours of agency employee time to prepare (Public Officer's Law 87[1][c][iv]). These records would also include payroll records. The Freedom of Information Law requires a requester to "reasonably describe" the records sought (Public Officer's Law 89[3][a]).
Additionally, if your request seeks "all expenses", please advise if there is a limit for payment of the copying fees.
Very truly yours,
Donna A. Milling

Dear Ms Milling,

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to clarify. I'm looking for all records of travel and meal expenses paid for or reimbursed by the District Attorney's Office from the 2014 fiscal year through the 2019 fiscal year. I'm not sure how your records systems are organized, which is why I constructed my request so broadly initially.

Best,

Robert Galbraith

From: Erie County District Attorney's Office

Dear Mr. Galbraith:
Thank you for clarifying your request and reasonably describing the records sought. Your freedom of information request is denied. A review of this agency's records reveals that the records you seek are intra-agency materials (Public Officer's Law 87[2][g]). You may appeal this determination by contacting First Deputy District Attorney Michael Keane at Michael.Keane@erie.gov.
