Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:
1. The completed checklist form for each person that is currently in the Evanston PD gang affiliation file/gang database. Due to privacy concerns, we don't expect the person's name and the month and day of the person's birthday to be made public and thus should be redacted. However, we are requesting that the year of the person's birthday should be made available because it is in the public interest to gain a better understanding of the approximate ages of the people in EPD's gang affilliation file/gang database.
In 2018, a similar request was made to the Evanston PD. After appeal 2018 PAC 51892, the City Attorney agreed to provide the nearly 450 checklist forms with the person's name and complete birthday redacted. A copy of 2018 PAC 51892 is attached. In May 2018, the Evanston PD completed a preliminary audit on its gang database. It removed 40 people from their files, 7 were removed from LEADS, and 3 were added that had previously been removed. An EPD detective completed this audit and prepared a full memorandum for the Chief of Police, which can be found on on page 84 of the October HSC packet at https://cityofevanston.org/home/showdocument?id=44173.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

We released all of the requested documents, except personal information, such as home addresses, telephone numbers, personal e-mail addresses, driver's license numbers, social security numbers, and credit card numbers, were removed from the documents to protect the privacy or identity of another individual (5 ILCS 140/2(c-5) and 7(1)(b)).
