Mr. Steve Miller
Via email requests@muckrock.com

Dear Mr. Miller:

This will respond to your October 5, 2015 email in which, pursuant to Ch.
119, F.S., you make the following request for public records:

1. All emails, corresponding attachments, texts and letters or other
forms of communication sent to (to:, cc: or bcc:) or from Pam Bondi
(or any person who communicates on her behalf or on behalf of the
office of the state Attorney General) where the email contains any of
the following keywords in the subject or body: "medicinal"
"marijuana" "med" "ballot issue" “herbalife” “supplement” and
“drugs.” Please limit responsive emails to those sent and received
between 01/01/2015 and the date this request is processed.
2. All emails received by the office of the Attorney General from the
public including the terms “medicinal marijuana” and “marijuana”
between January 1, 2015 and the date this request is processed
3. Copies of all cease and desist orders filed by the state Attorney
General’s office in the state of Florida between 01/01/2014 and the
date this request is processed.
4. A copy of the calendar(s) with events maintained by the office of Pam
Bondi and used as reference for the daily agenda of Attorney General
Bondi for the months of January, February, March, April, May, June,
July, August, and September of this year. Please included any
amendments to the calendar made during or after the respective month.
5. All emails sent from the email address pam.bondi@myfloridalegal.com
on February 25, 2014.

Our office has located the following records which may be responsive to
your requests:

1. Using the key words “medical marijuana” we have located 98 pages of
emails. A search using the words “medicinal marijuana” and “med” did
not yield any results. The other terms are overly broad and will
result in a great number of emails that will not necessarily be
responsive to your request. We can perform those searches if you are
willing to pay the fees associated with the review of a great number
of emails that may not be related to the topic of medical marijuana.
A review of the 98 pages of emails referenced above will require one
hour of staff time at a rate of $19.29 per hour to review these
records for any exempt materials.
2. Using the key words “medicinal marijuana” we found 2 records, using
the key words “medical marijuana” we found 21 records and using the
key word “marijuana” we located 73 records. It will require 2 hours
of staff time at a rate of $19.29 per hour for a total of $38.58 to
review these records for any exempt materials.
3. We have nothing responsive to this request.
4. The Attorney General’s scheduler is able to provide a copy of the
weekly calendar. There are 41 weeks that will have to reviewed and
redacted. It will require 5 hours of staff time at a rate of $40.87
per hour for a total of $204.35 to complete this review. Should you
require additional information regarding a particular day or event,
we are happy to provide that to you but, to contain your costs, we
have not done so during this first production.
5. We have nothing responsive to this request.

If you wish to receive a copy of the records described above, please remit
a check in the amount of $262.22 made payable to the Department of Legal
Affairs (No credit cards or C.O.D.) to cover the cost of copying and
mailing the record. You may send the check to my attention at the
following address: PL 01, The Capitol, 400 South Monroe Street,
Tallahassee, FL 32399-0150. Once payment has been received, we will begin
processing your request.

Please note that if our office does not receive a response within thirty
(30) days from the date of this letter, we will close your request as
non-responsive. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to contact our office at 850-245-0140.

Steve,

I understand Leslie was assisting you with the public records request you
made through MuckRock. We receive a lot of public records request and in
order to fulfill them all in a timely manner, Leslie handles requests from
citizens and our communications office assists with requests from the
media.

Leslie has updated me on the status of your request and provided me with
the emails you are seeking. She and I reviewed the emails and even though
there is nearly 100 pages, they appear to mostly be news stories and do not
need redacting. Since we were able to make this determination quickly, and
no further review is necessary, we do not need payment for these records.
