1978/1979 Charles Stanley, Sr. Murder (Georgia Bureau of Investigation)

Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am requesting information regarding the murder of Charles Stanley, Sr. in Gray, Georgia, and the subsequent trial and sentencing of his son Charles Stanley, Jr. (The son sometimes went by Charlie.) The murder was identified on Dec. 5 1978 and the trial took place February 8-9, 1979. Information being requested specifically includes:

- any associated incident and investigation reports from both the GBI and the Jones County Sheriff's Department
- the full autopsy report
- crime scene photos
- trial transcripts
- sentencing documents

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
