Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any contracts between the Education Department and the Institute for Curriculum Services, and the content of any professional development materials or presentations prepared by the Institute Curriculum Services for the Education Department since October 7th, 2022. I also request any email communication between Education Department employees and employees of the Institute for Curriculum Services since October 7th, 2022.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

I am writing in response to your open records request received by the Georgia Department of Education (“Department”). Specifically, you requested contracts and Department emails with the Institute for Curriculum Services.
The Department does not have any contracts responsive to your request.
In regard to the email search, do you want all employee emails searched or do you want to narrow it down to certain individuals/positions or Divisions? Also, please confirm the search term(s) you would like used. Would you like to search for anything other than “Institute for Curriculum Services”?

Yes I would like all employees' to be searched. In addition to "Institute for Curriculum Services," please conduct a search that includes the relevant domain name for the institute: icsresources.org. That is, the emails I am requesting should include a name followed by @icsresources.org. (For example, mary@icsresources.org.)

Good afternoon,
The Department estimates that it will take 2 hours (not including the first 15 minutes) to provide you with the information responsive to your request. The hourly rate of the lowest-paid employee capable of completing the request is $32.36. Accordingly, the cost to provide the records is $64.72 (2*$32.36). The search yielded approximately 120 items. If you approve the estimate, do you want to include newletter type emails or emails where an email with ICS was forwarded to another party? If the request takes a shorter time to complete, you would only be charged for that time.
The Department will not begin working on your request until it receives your written authorization that you will assume the costs outlined above. Due to the current workload of the Department and the amount of time necessary to produce documents responsive to your request, we estimate that it will take 5-7 business days to produce the documents after receiving your written authorization. Upon receiving your authorization, the Department will send the documents as they become available along with an invoice for the costs associated with your request. The invoice is payable with either check or money order to the Georgia Department of Education. Estimates over $500 require a 50% deposit.
