Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
- A copy of any data release consent forms parents or students are asked to sign
- Any current policy documents or guidelines governing student data usage
- Any amendments made to those forms from 2015-2019
- Documents outlining any third-party programs or applications collecting student data
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

I am the FOIA Officer for Goochland County Public Schools. I received your request (85098-52238399 <mailto:requests@muckrock.com>) this morning for records made in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (§ 2.2-3700 et seq.). I would like to have some clarification on your request for "Documents outlining any third-party programs or applications collecting student data.” What exactly are you looking for with this request?
Once I have clarification, I can determine the time it will take to pull the records together along with the cost.

Thank you for the clarification. The person I will be working with to obtain the records is out sick. With that, I may be unable to provide the records within the five-day period. Please be advised that I am invoking subsection B 4 of § 2.2-3704 to provide seven additional working days to respond to your request. I will provide the documents to you on or before January 28, 2020. I will send a subsequent email regarding costs as soon as I can speak with my colleague.

In response to your FOIA request below, attached please find our policy JRCA regarding use of student personal information/data as well as copies of our Acceptable Use Policy for school years 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20. In addition, I am including a link to our website <http://goochlandschools.org/instruction/technology/websites-and-services/> which lists websites and services used by Goochland County Public Schools. Also, this link <https://sites.google.com/a/glnd.k12.va.us/studentconduct/> will take you to our student code of conduct which is updated annually that includes a parent consent form.
