Stevik investigation emails - Grays Harbor

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Washington Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

All correspondence to and from the email address of sshumate@co.grays-harbor.wa.us that contain the term "Lyle Stevik" or "Lyle Stevick" in either the subject line or body of the email. Please include all correspondence from the date of that email account's creation until the date that this request is received.

It was just announced today that the identity of Lyle Stevik has been confirmed, meaning that this case is no longer an active, ongoing criminal investigation. I am very happy to hear that this case has been resolved, and I am thankful to the Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office for their long term attempts to resolve this case.

If this case is not an active, ongoing criminal investigation, then RCW 42.56.240(1) and RCW 42.56.050 cannot be used to deny access to the emails. Emails that contain information which might infringe on the privacy of the family can be easily redacted before release. I filed a similar request last year, and I have been waiting until this case was resolved to file another request regarding emails related to the case.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
