Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
- A copy of any data release consent forms parents or students are asked to sign
- Any current policy documents or guidelines governing student data usage
- Any amendments made to those forms from 2015-2019
- Documents outlining any third-party programs or applications collecting student data
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

This office is in receipt of your request for records made in accordance
with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (§ 2.2-3700 et seq.). In the
request, you are seeking the following information of Greene County Public
Schools:
1. A copy of any data release consent forms parents or students are
asked to sign
2. Any current policy documents or guidelines governing student data
usage
3. Any amendments made to those forms from 2015-2019
4. Documents outlining any third party programs or applications
collecting student data
In response to your request, the following information is provided.
Item 1 - Attached document - Release of Student Information Opt Out Form
Item 2 - Attached documents - Policy GAB/IIBEA Acceptable Computer System
Use, Policy JO Student Records, Policy JOB Administration of Surveys and
Questionnaires, Policy JRCA School Service Providers Use of Student
Personal Information, Policy KBE Internet Privacy and FERPA Notification
which is included in all student handbooks.
Item 3 - Only current revisions of policies are maintained. Revision
dates are noted.
Item 4 - There is not a document that outlines third party programs or
applications collecting student data.
