Pursuant to the Hawaii Uniform Information Practices Act, I hereby request the following records:

CAD (dispatch) record, written reports, any audio/video documenting the response to/at the incident location including body-worn and "dashcam", and any videos gathered during the investigation into the incident.

Aloha Mr. Wells,

Pursuant to your request for CAD (dispatch) record, written reports, any audio/video documenting the response to/at the incident location including body-worn and “dashcam”, and any videos gathered during the investigation into the incident documented under report number, 23-078858. This report documents the nonfatal fall of an 18 year old victim, from a cliff on an illegal hiking trail, which required helicopter rescue on August 16, 2023.

Attached, please find the redacted incident report, as well as the dispatch call detail report. It should be noted that the Hawaii Police Department does not utilize dashcams on our patrol vehicles. Furthermore, no Body Worn Camera footage was captured due to hospital privacy, as police personnel responded to the Queens North Hawaii Community Hospital.
