Pursuant to the Hawaii Uniform Information Practices Act, I hereby request the following records:
–A list of every hospital, clinic, or other institution that provides sexual assault forensic exams administered by a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) in Hawaii County.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Responding to a request regarding a list of every hospital, clinic, or other institution that provides sexual assault forensic exams administered by a certificated SANE in Hawaii County. We tried to respond via the online address given, but the passcode provided did not work.
With regard to the question, SANE exams are provided through the YWCA and are done at the Hilo Hospital and Kona Community Hospital. The request comes through police who contact the YWCA to set up the exam. The hospitals allow the SANE's to utilize a room for the exam. These SANES are not employed by the hospital for the purposes of these exams. SANES are on call and typically do these exams in addition to other jobs they may have.
