Copies of all reports, lists, databases, or individual documents created since 1/1/16 detail lawsuits brought against the city's police department. This should include any documentation mechanism your department uses to track lawsuits. It should also include any documents your department submits to local, state, or federal agencies listing the number and/or status of lawsuits brought against the police department.

This request should include documents compiled quarterly, annually, or in other increments and documents or databases that contain responsive information over a longer period.

Please include settlement amounts, case numbers, and total expenses (this should include the legal costs to the city.)

Please provide all available materials from January 1, 2016 through November 6, 2024.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In reference to your below request under the California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 7920 et seq.), additional time is required for consultation, which shall be conducted with all practicable speed. Under the California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 7922.525(b) et seq.), an extension of an additional 14 days is appropriate under these circumstances.

Based on the initial 10-day response period and the additional 14-day extension period, our office will contact you on or before December 18, 2024 regarding a response of the requested records.
