Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A digital copy of the video of Ahmed Mohamed’s arrest from Monday, September 14th, 2015, as referenced in an email sent from SRO Sergeant Jeff Mitchell to Maria Borrego, Monty Vincent, and Byron Keyes in an email from Friday, September 18, 2015 that reads: “Can you please make a copy of the video of Ahmed Mohamed’s arrest from Monday 9/14 at approximately 15:30 hours, when his is brought from community services all the way into the juvenile cells and then back into community services.” I am requesting this video.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. It will be used in the course of reporting for Motherboard, VICE Media's science and technology website.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request and I request that it be processed under the "media" fee category. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available, dropbox, wetransfer, or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

In response to your request for a video of the arrest of Ahmed Mohamed I have attached a Request for Opinion to the Attorney General. This AG request was previously submitted in response to requests for information concerning the incident that took place at MacArthur High School on September 14, 2015. We are still waiting for a response from the AG. Thanks

The Texas Family Code specifically makes records of juveniles confidential and release of those records is prohibited as a matter of law. Moreover, we have previously requested an opinion from the office of the Attorney General supporting that determination and we will advise you as soon as the response from the AG is received.

Attached is the AG opinion concerning information related to an incident at MacArthur High School on 9/14/15. Based on the opinion of the AG we will not be releasing any video.
