To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All documents containing policies and procedures that establish the authority/powers of the civilian review board, office of civilian complaints, civilian police commission, civilian inspector general, or other civilian oversight structure of the police department.
If no civilian oversight board exists, copy of any policies or procedures for handling civilian complaints.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Samuel Sinyangwe

Good afternoon,
I received the below listed request for information; however, the request was directed to the media relations department. All requests for police department records under applicable public information laws should be directed to openrecords@cityofirving.org<mailto:openrecords@cityofirving.org>. Requests sent to that address will be received by the appropriate staff and will minimize delays or the chance of being overlooked. To reduce any future confusion, we are changing our website to reflect the media relations department as opposed to Public Information Officer.
Your current request was forwarded to legal advisor for review and fulfillment.
Thank you,
James McLellan
