Dear Mr. de Gruy:

Pursuant to the Mississippi Public Records Act, I am requesting a copy of the following records.

1. The court data for criminal cases involving misdemeanor and felony charges in county and circuit courts provided by the Administrative Office of Courts in accordance with Miss. Code Ann. § 9-1-46(3) ("On August 1, 2015, and each year thereafter, the Administrative Office of Courts shall provide to PEER and the Office of State Public Defender sortable, electronic copies of all reports required by this section.").

If this public records request is denied in whole or in part, please provide (1) whether the record in question exist, and if so, (2) the statutory exemption relied upon. If OSPD claims an exemption for some of the requested records, please produce those for which it does not claim an exemption, including records where the exempt portions are redacted. If OSPD is only in possession of a limited portion of requested records, please produce those in its possess.

Because this request is not being made for commercial purposes and the disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest, I am requesting a waiver of any fees. In the event that there are fees, please inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request.
