Pursuant to the Kansas Open Records Act (K.S.A. 45-215), I hereby request the following records:

All investigation records (including either a “case file” or a “cold case file”) related to the July 1978 disappearance of Beverly Ward. According to an Associated Press article, the Junction City Police Department has designated this case as #1978-10233.

I have been reading about Kansas Senate Bill 200, which allows open record requests for investigation records of missing person cases if a certain time threshold has passed. I am hopeful that this case falls under those guidelines. I believe that additional leads could be generated if the investigation records for this particular case were shared on Reddit and Websleuths.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
