Pursuant to the Kentucky Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Records that contain information on how many specialty "Choose Life" license plates were sold from 1997 onwards.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

In response to your request for the number of specialty "Choose Life" license plates sold from 1997 until present, please be advised that past information is not readily available and would have to be created. Under the open records law, a public agency is not obligated to create records to satisfy a particular open records request. 02-ORD-112, 97-ORD-56, 96-ORD-139, 95-ORD-48. However, I have been advised that currently there are 4,062 "Choose Life" plates registered in Kentucky. Every year this number will fluctuate, as some owners may not renew their plate.
